Title I Supplemental Educational Services

October 2017

Title I, Part A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended recently as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), provides funding to school districts with high numbers of children from low-income families. The added federal funding helps to ensure that all students are learning and meeting state-level academic standards.

Title I is important because it provides students significant opportunity to receive a fair, equitable, high-quality education that, in turn, helps to close educational achievement gaps.

In Nashua, Title I funds are used in eligible schools to provide in-school reading and math support, preschool experiences, and educational supplies and materials.

Five elementary schools in the Nashua School District are eligible and qualify for Title I funding:
  • Amherst Street Elementary School
  • Dr. Norman W. Crisp Elementary School
  • Fairgrounds Elementary School
  • Ledge Street Elementary School
  • Mount Pleasant Elementary School

Parent involvement is an important part of the Title I Program. The links below provide access to parent involvement policies, school progress reports, and new and existing programs. If you have questions, please contact the school principal.

Each of the five elementary school principals encourage families to read the following information on the Home/School Learning Compact
