The Nashua Board of Education approved Dr. Mosley's recommendation to appoint three administrators: Marcia Bagley as Director of Special Education, Nathan Burns as Principal of Nashua HS North, and Chas Miller as Principal of Ledge Street Elementary School.

Marcia Bagley: Ms. Bagley was named Director of Special Education, replacing Christine Breen who retires August 31 as Director after three years of dedicated leadership in the position. Ms. Bagley currently serves as one of two assistant directors of the special education department.

For 12 years, Ms. Bagley has been a valuable member of the special education administrative team. She arrived in 2007 as the preschool coordinator and, during her nine-year tenure in that role, she oversaw a tremendous growth in program enrollment, including the addition of several classrooms of students.

Ms. Bagley earned a Bachelor of Science in Special and Elementary Education from Marywood University, Scranton, Pennsylvania, and a Master of Science in Human Services Management in Special Education with a concentration in applied behavior analysis from McDaniel College, Westminster, Maryland.

Nathan Burns: As a longtime teacher and administrator, Mr. Burns brings a wealth of experience and invested leadership to North. Mr. Burns has served admirably as the interim principal since the start of the school year.

Mr. Burns is a Nashua native and Nashua Senior High School alumnus. He has been an educator with the school district for 17 years. Mr. Burns began his career teaching science at Elm Street Middle School, and he also taught at both North and South high schools where he developed the forensic science course. In addition, he is a longtime cross country and track and field coach, having won NHIAA Division I championships in each discipline multiple times. Mr. Burns is a former head science teacher at North and most recently co-chaired the joint North/South Competency and Grading Committee.

Mr. Burns earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Boston University, a Master of Education in Education Administration from Rivier University, Nashua, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Principal Leadership from New England College, Henniker.

Chas Miller: Mr. Miller is the new principal at Ledge Street Elementary School and will begin his tenure on July 1, replacing Tim McGillicuddy who has led Ledge Street staff and school community members since arriving in late October as interim principal.

Mr. Miller brings 11 years experience as an elementary school principal to Nashua. Currently he is principal of Ardmore Elementary School in Bellevue, Washington, which he describes as a "racially, culturally, and linguistically diverse school..." Mr. Miller is proud of his contributions to developing and implementing a three-year school improvement plan, adhering to defined instructional initiatives and measures to achieve effectiveness.

Mr. Miller earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology/Elementary Education from Castleton Univesity, Castleton, Vermont, and while living and working in North Carolina, participated in a North Carolina Principal Fellows leadership development program and earned a Master of Education in School Administration from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina.

We look forward to working with Ms. Bagley, Mr. Burns and Mr. Miller. Please join Dr. Mosley and members of the Nashua Board of Education in welcoming them to their new leadership roles with the school district.
